Because he was an orphan
with so many wishes that
had never come true, the
boy stepped toward the
darkness even though he
was afraid of the lion. The
lion knelt upon the cold
stone until he felt the boy
grab his mane & climb
upon his back. Then, with
a roar, the lion leapt into
the wind & darkness
beyond the castle walls.
